Life this week.......

Busy busy busy, I wish I could tell you that I work in the glamorous world of beauty PR but I don't, for the time being I have to work within good old financial services. This comes with good and bad points:

The bad - its boring. end of.
The good - it means I'm financially savvy and that if someone tries to screw me over (yes I mean you EDF Energy!) I know what to say, how to complain and who to escalate any complaint to in order to get my problem resolved asap. Geeky I know, but oh so handy.

ANYWAY. The rest of this week has been good - beach walks with the pooches was top of the list. We have a springer puppy called Milo and my Mum and Dad have a beagle called Bow. Now because she is a beagle normally she cannot be trusted off the lead HOWEVER, due to her overwhelming love for Milo and not being able to leave her alone, she went off the lead for the first time EVER! She was so good and it was actually quite emotional for my mum and I.

My favourite blog post of the week comes from Gemsmaquillage Her post on how she has got the love back for blogging completely resonated with me and made me realise not to put too much pressure on myself in future. For all you new, old and would be bloggers out there I seriously advise you to read this post. It will make you feel so much better.

This week is VERY exciting. The hubby to be has an interview on Tuesday (fingers, toes EVERYTHING crossed for him) he has been out of work for 6 months now and its not nice to see him struggle to find a job especially because I know how much of a hard worker he is and how much potential he has. On Thursday we have a tasting session at our wedding venue where we will get to try the menu for the reception meal - excited is NOT the word.

I would love to know what you all think of my blog so far, what would you like to hear me talking about (I'm open to pretty much anything!). Have a fab week!

Alpha H Liquid Gold and Pixi Glow Tonic - the glow enhancers!

Like many bloggers I'm addicted to Caroline Hirons blog, if you haven't yet discovered her then where have you been?! She's a total skincare guru and she knows her stuff. I've totally overhauled my skincare collection and she has definitely made me rethink my routine - no more baby wipes on lazy nights if you get what I mean!

Two products that I invested in immediately after reading her tips and reviews were Liquid Gold by Alpha H and Glow Tonic by Pixi. An acid toner is a MUST in any skincare routine and these two wonders do the job but in different ways.

Starting with Glow Tonic, this is gentle enough to use everyday. It's alcohol free and acts as an exfoliating tonic that gently resurfaces the skin - the complete opposite to Clinique Clarifying Lotion which I can only describe as being like applying acid to your face! It has 5% glycolic acid as well which is good for sloughing away dead skin cells and helps against skin ageing. I've found since using this that my skin is much brighter, my moisturiser sinks in perfectly and make up applies like a dream. It costs £16 and you can buy it here

Alpha H Liquid Gold is similar in the way that its an acid tone however, it packs more of a punch. The description on the bottle says: The Glycolic based formulation works like an “overnight facial” to brighten and revitalise tired, ageing skin, and radically improve the appearance of the complexion.

You should apply this every other evening instead of your usual acid tone and once touch dry you can then go straight in with your moisturiser or, for a more intense hit you can leave it to work on its own. I love this product, personally I wouldn't recommend it for sensitive skin types as it can leave the face tingly for a little while and I know that some people don't like that. It costs £31.50 from Alpha H which may sound steep however, a little goes a long way and it really does work. I know that QVC also stock this and sometimes have it on a special buy.

Since using both of the products I have noticed that I have less fine lines and my skin has that healthy glow, I've even braved going to the shops with no make-up on and managed to not scare people!

What are your favourite glow enhancing products?

Sunday, 25 May 2014

Hello all...

Hey all!

My name is Kate and this is my new blog. I've dabbled in blogging in the past but I've never quite stuck to it, I think this is because I had stuck to one particular subject but after a while wanted to write about other things which were totally not related to my blog which frustrated me.

Soooooo...

Welcome to the Sunday Collective! Why have I called it this? Well, one of my absolute favourite things to do is to sit down on a Sunday with a cup of tea and toast (strawberry jam or nutella as a topping in case you were wondering) and read all of my favourite blogs and watch YouTube videos. Its like my little Sunday ritual now and it sparked my need to blog again so, what can you expect from this blog? You can expect pretty much anything and everything from my favourite blog posts from the week to my favourite beauty products to what I've been up to - anything!!

For now I will be posting on just Sunday's to ease me into the world of blogging again, I felt last time that I put myself under too much pressure to blog every day (anyone else get like that?) So, one day a week is fine with me for now although, if something excites me that much then you can expect the odd cheeky mid-week post too.

That's pretty much it. Oh, a little about me - well, I work in finance PR (snore), I'm getting married in October!, I live with my lovely fiancĂ© and our adorable springer spaniel Milo and I love nothing more than taking beach walks, drinking tea and eating chocolate. I also love the idea of travelling BUT saving for a wedding has put a stop to that for a while and I'm also shit scared of flying!

Finally, I've tried to link my blog to Bloglovin and it has asked me to post the link below - don't feel pressured to follow me but I will love you forever if you do. Peace...
